Location

The Paul Revere Heritage Site is located between Neponset Street and Revere Street in Canton, MA on Boston’s South Shore. This site includes a nine-acre park, historic buildings, waterways and dams, and the Northern Spy Restaurant. Set GPS to the “Northern Spy Restaurant, Canton, MA” or “4 Rolling Mill Way, Canton, MA”.

The Heritage Site is a 35-minute car ride from the center of Boston, a 25-minute commuter rail ride from the center of Boston, a 45-minute car ride from the center of Providence, RI and a 55-minute commuter rail ride from the center of Providence, RI.

Unless otherwise posted, permitted or provided, the site is open to the public from one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset as published by the National Weather Service.

The Town of Canton may limit or restrict access to or use of the site due to potential or immediate hazard, emergency, hazardous weather, water, fire, construction, maintenance or other public health, safety or welfare concerns, or detrimental impacts on the property, nature, wildlife or the environment of the site.

The Northern Spy Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the brick Copper Rolling Mill. Restaurant hours can be found on the Northern Spy website.

Copper Mill Hall is on the upper floor of the Copper Rolling Mill. The hall contains free MoDI exhibits (available for unsupervised viewing), and serves as an event, function and publicly-available meeting space. The hall is open whenever the Northern Spy Restaurant is open. Enter the restaurant on the right side of the building. Take the stairs to the left, or the elevator on the right, to the second floor.

By car

To enter the Heritage Site by car

turn onto Revolution Way from Neponset Street.  The parking lot entrance is 200 feet on the right, or

turn onto Revolution Way from Revere Street.  The parking lot entrance is 500 feet on the left.

Free parking is available

  • in the parking lot in front of the Rolling Mill
  • in marked spaces on Revolution Way (do not park in residential lots along Revolution Way)
  • in marked spaces on Neponset Street
  • in marked spaces on Revere Street

By rail

The MBTA’s Canton Canton Station and Canton Junction Station are both within walking distance of the Heritage Site.

 

CANTON CENTER STATION

 

 

Exit the station.  Turn right on Washington Street.  Walk 500 feet, turn right at the Revere Street (first traffic ligh).  Walk 700 feet to a diagonal side road on the left.  The side road leads directly into the park.

 

CANTON JUNCTION STATION

Take the stairs.  Follow signs to TRACK 4.  Turn right on the TRACK 4 platform.  Walk 100 feet, turn tight onto a paved path.  Walk 700 feet to Revere Street.  Turn right, walk 1200 feet to Revolution Way (sign for Paul Revere Heritage Site).  Turn right, walk 700 feet to the Site parking lot entrance on the left.
